Job Description

We are currently seeking a Supervisor to join our team where this key individual will be responsible to ensure the flow of store product is received, processed and shipped accurately, timely and efficiently to meet level of service goals.  The Supervisor leads a specific team of employees leading the day to day operations.  This is a 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) opportunity in the receiving area at the Tuesday Morning Distribution Center.  

Responsibilities will include:

Results and Accountability:                                                                                                                           50%

  • This position supervises up to 60 associates of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management, and hiring and releasing of all associates within its department in compliance with company policy and HR partnership.
  • Responsible for onboarding and the training of new and cross training of existing associates.
  • Supervision / Follow-up.
  • Delegation of work / appropriate allocation of resources.
  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are maintained and followed.

 Plans, schedules, and meets daily production goals: 

  • Communicates with Manager on performance planned throughout the shift. Makes necessary adjustments based on performance to plan.
  • Execute plans, makes required adjustments and utilizes experience to support company’s planned growth.
  • Facilitates the flow of merchandise from vendor to store delivery up to 7 days per- week depending on volume and business need.

Manage the performance of direct reports to include, but not limited to:              

  • Safety/Quality/Job Knowledge/Production/Time and Attendance
  • Provides consistent feedback to direct reports on individual performance.
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly performance feedback

 Communication and Customer Service:                                                                                                     25%

    • Communicates with all levels of management and associates keeping them Informed of priorities, company goals, company initiatives and relevant departmental Information as needed.
    • Communicates, effectively supports and works with the Supply Chain Transportation, Planning and Analysis, Merchants, Store Operations, and Merchandise Allocation to flow product through the Distribution Center in the most cost efficient and productive manner.
    • Evaluates and analyzes trends to ensure operational effectiveness. Evaluates, recommends and implements process improvement changes.
    • Identifies and assists in developing strategies and ROI’s for cost saving ideas and technologies in the Distribution Center.                                                                  

Team Leadership:                                                                                                                                           25%

    • Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment while supporting the company’s Culture.
    • Responsible for fostering a healthy and safe work environment, focusing on the well- being of the Distribution Center associates.     
    • Maintains and strengthens internal/external customer – supplier relationships. Develops and maintains strong working relationships at all levels; Peers within Operations, Management, Human Resources, Risk Management and Corporate Associates. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • This position leads all hourly associates of a designated department and is responsible for performance management, personnel-related matters and ensuring compliance with company policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years supervisory experience in a Logistics/Distribution/Supply Chain/Warehousing environment
  • High School Diploma, Some College preferred

Working Conditions:

Outside environmental conditions found in the Distribution Centers, hot in the summer, cold in the winter. Individuals may need to walk for an extensive period of time while working and walking the facilities; to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
