Buyer Coordinator

The Buyer Coordinator is responsible for the daily workflow of the data elements of the purchase order process, encompassing data entry, accuracy and reporting. The Buyer Coordinator supports the Buyer and purchase order related duties such as, but not limited to preparation of a PO for entry, PO maintenance, vendor communication, as well as assisting in resolving quality concerns with merchandise being processed in the warehouse.

Primary Responsibilities:                             

  • Initiates and maintains the timely and accurate preparation of Purchase Orders, complying with the business standards & procedures
  • Ensures accuracy, completeness, timeliness and management of master data entry
  • Follow-up with Vendors regarding concerns pertaining to PO\u0027s and shipments
  • Follow-up and resolve DC issues regarding PO\u0027s in a timely and effective manner
  • Monitor PO shipping compliance versus established cut offs, guidelines, and shipping windows
  • Manage PO\u0027s status for OTB purposes by cancelling orders/balances with Buyer/Planner Approval


  • Merchandising and/or administrative purchase order experience, in a retail environment strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Outlook & Microsoft Office – specifically Excel
  • Understand basic retail formulas with the ability to audit data entry for errors
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle critical deadlines/prioritize work and business processes and able to multi-task regularly

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma required
  • College degree preferred

Certifications or Licenses:

  • Open cube work environment
  • Sits most of the day, uses computer, telephone, copier and other office equipment
  • Ability to lift, move, carry, sort various samples up to 50 lbs
