DC HR Manager

We are currently seeking a Distribution Center HR Manager to join the Tuesday Morning team, where this key individual will act as the HR business partner providing leadership and support to the day-to-day operations for approximately 500 associates and 250+ temporary associates.  Ensuring alignment of business and talent strategy through Implementing and enhancing HR programs, in partnership with the General Manager, are key focuses for success. The Manager will be tasked with serving the function’s needs with leadership development, employee relations, engagement, talent acquisition and change management.

 The Manager, Human Resources will demonstrate sound moral character and judgment: decisions come from a fact-based and informed position. S/he will possess outstanding skills of influence, candor, courage, critical thinking and problem-solving.

Additional responsibilities include:                                                                                                           

  • Actively pursues knowledge of DC operations, policies, organizational structure, roles and responsibilities to better understand the business.
  • Advises leadership on organization structure changes and decisions. Provides tools (climate surveys, town hall meetings) to drive engagement and cultural change
  • Manages succession planning, leadership development and performance management in a. Provides tools and facilitates meetings to ensure ongoing development (i.e. 360 degree feedback, IDP) and follow-up
  • Builds relationships with the team at all levels and assures new associates assimilate well into the culture and environment; is a visible leader throughout the DC campus
  • Oversees resolution of employee relations issues; collaborates closely with legal as appropriate, aids leadership in decision making, providing solutions, leader/associate coaching and counseling, progressive discipline, and performance management
  • Responsible for recruiting and on-boarding of DC salaried and hourly positions, manages overall headcount and seasonal staffing plans
  • Partners multiple temporary staffing vendors to ensure temporary and peak needs are met
  • Gathers information for investigations, reviews, and resolves employee complaints and other employment-related actions; resolves Company ethics issues and manages EEO or supports litigation cases as assigned; supports consistency in adhering to best practices and employment law
  • Conducts reviews, responds to claims, acts as company representative to complaints filed with local, State and Federal agencies, wage and hour disputes; monitors HR legal compliance
  • Report and follow-up on employee injury claims working collaboratively with Corporate Risk Management group

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field and 6+ years of experience in an HR business partner role to include comprehensive experience in; employee relations, conflict resolution, conducting investigations, talent acquisition, succession planning and performance management
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a must
  • Previous HR leadership experience in a DC environment is required
  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written; must possess a high level of integrity and trust
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-makers and balance HR practices and guidelines with business needs, demonstrated ability to build relationships, resolve problems thoroughly and with urgency, exceptional organizational and training skills, self-motivated with ability to identify and initiate projects in a fun and changing HR department
  • Works well in fast-paced, complex environment with frequently changing priorities, providing hands-on assistance and strong team execution and orientation
  • Proficient in office products including Word, Excel, Google, PowerPoint as well as HRIS system(s).

Physical Requirements:  Extended periods of sitting and walking, frequently stands and walks for prolonged periods of time in DC/Warehouse environment, uses computer, telephone and other office equipment; typically requires intermittent periods of concentration and focused attention
