Learning, Development & Communications Manager

The Learning, Development & Communications Manager will assume the key role for the creation, development and on-going management of HR and business-related training programs for our Stores, Distribution Center and Corporate associates designed to improve individual and organizational performance. Additionally, this role will lead and drive internal communications and events for the corporate office. 

Primary Responsibilities:                               

  • Designs and develops training materials that includes; facilitator and participant guides, tutorials, demonstration models, study and reference materials, job aids, videos and on-the-job training systems.
  • Collaborates with managers, supervisors, and staff to gain knowledge of work areas and topics requiring training and develop curriculum requirements and program designs that support organizational needs and objectives.
  • Facilitates live training including corporate new hire and need-specific training.
  • Leads the management of Store Manager in Training Program to include; ongoing updates to content, weekly communications regarding MIT status, overall results tracking and reporting.
  • Facilitates onboarding for corporate new hires to include; day 1, 30-day new hire check-in, and onboarding survey administration & tracking.
  • Presents and delivers effective learning programs to associates of all levels.
  • Works with cross-functional team to develop, coordinate and facilitate content for Tuesday Morning’s annual field leader meeting.
  • Participates in the Performance Management Process for Stores, Distribution Center and Corporate associates.
  • Prepare, update, participate and summarize companywide succession planning/talent review process.
  • Facilitates the leadership 360 process from end to end to include set up, communication, administration and results delivery.
  • Manages the internal communications process to include building communication content, determining the best vehicle for delivery, and executing the information in an accurate, timely and engaging fashion.
  • Supports and help lead corporate events to include idea generation, coordination of activities leading up to an event, partnering with other key individuals or teams to ensure their assignments are on track, participate in the events and ensures well-facilitated.

 Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Communications preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience with design/development of training and/or talent management preferably in a corporate-level training role. Previous experience with corporate internal communications preferred.
  • Retail experience helpful.


  • Excellent written/verbal/stand-up facilitation/presentation skills required
  • Technical competence in HR training and development
  • Performance management and assessment skills
  • Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Sits at desk; uses computers, copiers, phone, and other office equipment
  • Ability to lift furniture and boxes up to 50 lbs.
