Job Description

The Manager -, Safety & Loss Prevention is primarily responsible for the safety and health of the facility associates, vendors and guests. This positon will oversee the OSHA compliance and accident reduction programs for the facility, as well as creating and maintaining a solid culture of safety awareness. Additional safety related duties include supporting and improving on the company Distribution Center Safety Program, oversee the Safety Committee program, oversee and conduct safety audits, conduct and oversee training and identify evolving industry best practices that could benefit Tuesday Morning. Loss Prevention related duties include the support and further development of a supply chain loss prevention and loss reduction program, managing facility security systems, leading staff for security of the facilities yard and building. Evening and weekend work is required.

Management, Results and Accountability:                                                                                                                    50%

  • Maintain and foster a culture of safety resulting in reduction of OSHA and non-OSHA recordable incidents.
    • Demonstrated by reduction in Accident Frequency Rate, severity of incidents and improvement in ongoing worker’s compensation costs.
  • Work with campus partners to continuously review and update, when applicable, the Distribution Center Safety Program.
  • Identify and prioritize Safety and Loss Prevention risks for the campus and supply chain organization
    • Minimizing shrink, damages, lost productivity by facility associates and injuries
  • Lead and support, as necessary, expertise in safety and other incident related investigations identifying root causes and making recommendations to mitigate future risk through the company Incident Review Process.
  • Maintain a Positive Impression of Control environment, to aid in the minimization of Loss Prevention risk.
  • Conduct all Loss Prevention related investigations and interviews utilizing all available Loss Prevention  and business resources such as CCTV, card access system, productivity reporting, time clock reporting, conducting surveillances, etc.
  • Maintain a program to provide equal support for both first and second shifts for the facility.
  • This position supervises 5.5 Loss Prevention associates and is responsible for leadership and performance management responsibilities, for all associates within the Safety & Loss Prevention team.
  • Operates, monitors and maintains security control panels, alarms and related security equipment.
  • Responds to and investigates incidents in storage yards, Tuesday Morning buildings and parking areas that are reported to Loss Prevention.
  • Ensures a program is in place for opening and closing the facility, ensuring that premises are properly secured with no associates, guests or vendors left behind. Responsible for training of all opening and closing personnel.
  • Assists with special projects and other duties as directed by supervisor.

  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment while supporting the company’s culture.
  • Responsible for fostering a healthy and safe work environment, focusing on the well- being of the Distribution Center associates, guests and vendors.
  • Maintains and strengthens internal, external customer, stores and supplier relationships. Communicates and works with Supply Chain partners in Transportation, Planning and Analysis, Merchants, Store Operations, and Merchandise Allocation to flow product through the Distribution Center in the most cost efficient and productive manner.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • This position manages all associates of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management, hiring and releasing of all associates within its department in compliance with company policy and HR partnership.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 + years in supervisory or greater role in a Logistics/Distribution/Supply
  • 5-7+ years Loss Prevention and Safety Experience working in a Logistics/Distribution/Supply

Chain/Warehousing environment

  • Knowledge and experience of modern security technology, including intruder detection system, CCTV, access control and patrol monitoring systems.
  • OSHA 30 and or similar certifications preferred.

Working Conditions:

Ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in any typical office environment, as well as a range of outside environmental conditions found in the Distribution Centers, hot in the summer, cold in the winter. Individuals may need to  walk for an extensive period of time while working and walking the facilities; to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
