Job Description

The Safety Training Coordinator will assist by cultivating and maintaining a Safety culture as well as implementing innovative strategies to the most challenging health & safety issues facing the company.  The incumbent will also provide support to drive continuous systematic improvement in our safety performance. The Safety Training Coordinator is also responsible for the training and certifications of all Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) operators. The ideal candidate will have relevant education and experience in a distribution center setting and should bring to this position a type of creativity and “can do” attitude that will help make the overall organization successful.

Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Conducting of safety training programs, including safety orientation and the development, scheduling and maintenance of training programs.
  • Ensures accurate and timely accident reporting for both OSHA and Company purposes.
  • Reduces the number and severity of accidents through development and implementation of safety programs, OSHA compliance of equipment and associate behavior through awareness safety training.
  • Conducts inquiries with employees when necessary.
  • Maintain all incident records and log.
  • Assist in maintaining physical security
  • Conduct audits that focus on Policies and Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures for Safety, Security, and company operating controls.
  • Perform First Responder duties.
  • Assist with facility yard controls as needed. 
  • Supports Loss Prevention/Safety Manager assuming necessary responsibilities in the absence of supervisor.
